About Sunscreen Checker

Sunscreen Checker is a free, anonymous tool that reads a sunscreen's ingredient list and tells you what type of UV filters it uses — chemical, mineral, or hybrid — whether it contains fragrance allergens, and whether it passes an ingredient-based screen for eczema-prone and sensitive skin. Every product our community checks is reviewed before joining the public directory.

Who's behind it

I'm Dr. Erah Anwar, PhD — a skin scientist based in Singapore. I built Sunscreen Checker (and its sister site, eczemachecker.com) because ingredient labels shouldn't need a PhD to decode. Classification here is deterministic and transparent: your ingredient list is matched against a published reference of UV filters, photostabilizers, and fragrance allergens — no guesswork, no sponsorship, no brand can pay for a better result.

What this site is not

Sunscreen Checker analyses ingredient lists. It is not medical advice, and an ingredient screen is not a guarantee that a product will suit your skin — patch-test new products, and see a dermatologist about allergies or skin conditions.
